David Windle is the Director of the London South Research School at Charles Dickens (LSRS) and the Deputy Headteacher at Charles Dickens Primary School. With teaching experience across numerous primary schools in London, he has taught from nursery to Year 6 and has also been involved in teacher training and adult education. His areas of expertise include teaching reading and writing in Key Stages 1 and 2, with a particular focus on reading fluency and modelled writing. He co-devised three programmes - Fluency Focus, Supported Sentences & Early Emotions - which are undergoing trials with the EEF. As the lead of LSRS, David is dedicated to assisting teachers in engaging with research evidence to enhance their practices and to expanding the community of education professionals who advocate for evidence-informed practices in schools.
