I have worked extensively in primary education as a teacher, SENDCO and senior leader. Different schools and communities have given me a breadth of experience in working with a range of pupils some with highly complex needs. I hold the NASENCO award and NPQLBC and NPQSL.
I have experience in setting up sensory rooms and supporting sensory regulation through the day. I have a thorough understanding of pupils with SEMH needs and have used Nurture provision effectively in different schools. In a previous school I have delivered a whole school Trauma Informed Approach and restructured the SEMH provision to support pupils with more challenging behaviour.
I strongly believe one of the key roles of SENDCO is to provide a toolkit of resources, strategies and approaches. I am currently working on embedding adaptive teaching strategies with teaching and support staff at Dulwich Hamlet.
